Our new certification, CWAP (Certified Wireless Analysis Professional) beta exam is now available at all Prometric testing centers. Vouchers must be purchased from cwnp.com, and CWNA is a required pre-requisite:

We will be conducting a CWAP Beta Class in Atlanta April 26-30. Registration form:

The CWAP class will include hands on learning for the following products:

-AirMagnet & AirMagnet Distributed
-Network Chemistry
-Network Instruments Observer Suite 9.0
-TamoSoft CommView for WiFi 2.4

The learning objectives for CWNI, which included WLAN switching and enterprise wireless gateway technologies, will be merged into CWNA and CWSP, respectively.

CWNE, which will consist of a one-day practical lab exam (a la CCIE & RHCE) will be available in 2005. To be a candidate for CWNE, one must pass CWNA, CWAP, CWSP.

How long will the beta of the CWAP be offered? Is is necessary to pass the CWNA before taking the CWAP?

CWAP beta exam will be available for approximately 90 days. Yes, CWNA is the pre-requisite.

Hi Kevin,

Few questions:

1) Since some of the CWNI objectives are going into CWNA and CWSP, when will CWNA v3 and CWSP v2 be released?

2) When should we expect the CWAP official guide?

3) Any CWSP and CWAP CBT's in the works?

Good questions:

The changes have already been made to the CWSP instructor led training curriculum. The exam and study guide won't be updated until the very end of this year, at the earliest.

We will begin adding WLAN switching labs to CWNA this summer, and also update the study guide and exam at the very end of this year.

Until then, all else is the same.

CWAP Official Study Guide is being authored by Jim Geier with Devin Akin as Tech Ed, and should be available early summer.

CBTs from Jim Geier are also in the works for CWSP and CWAP. No ETAs on those yet.
