remote access to cisco router

hey guy's got a belkin ADSL router doing all my internet, and i've connected a cisco router sitting in the DMZ that has a default route to the belkin,

I've tried putting my laptop in the DMZ which i can ping and telnet to fine.

But when the cisco router is in the DMZ the telnet fails ?

any ideas why the cisco router isn't allowing me to ping or telnet?

i changed the default route from

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 f0/1

to ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 (next hop IP)

and t's working now
