At 11:00 AM EST today I will be taking my exam. I've read almost everything I could online, I've reviewed my academy books and I've read afew other books.

Now is the time to prove how much I truely learned. However any suggestions would be awesome. My instructor said you'd get a peice of scrap paper, but the exam would not start until you clicked start. He said that was a good chance to scribble down some notes from memory like cheats for the OSI model and subnetting. Are you actually allowed to do that?

In less than 12 hours, I will either be a CCNA or have wasted $125.

Well the results are in. 809

    Bridging & Switching 66%
OSI Model & Layered Communications 83%
    Routed Protocols 66%
    Routing Protocols 100%
    WAN Services 66%
    Network Managment 66%
    LAN Technologies 83%
    Cicso & Networking Basics 25%

Now which section is the sim section? Looks like I got most of the harder stuff and bombed the simple stuff.

The only thing about the exam that I am going to say is I was suprised by the subnetting. Not much of it, and a good chunk of it was class B.

Also, the sims were very cryptic and I had to sit and read the instructions several times, but once I got into the router and figured out what needed to be done, they seemed fairly easy.

There are several sections with exam objectives that can be turned into a sim. Check out
www.cisco.com/warp/public/10/wwtraining/certprog/testing/current_exams/640-801.html every topic that starts with 'Configure' can be a sim on the exam.
    Cicso & Networking Basics 25%
:o I'm kinda suprised about the 25% (I'm sure you are too ;)). Did you read our TechNotes? We have pretty much all of that section covered.

I agree, they are fairly easy indeed... when you understand what they want you to do. With mosts sims you need to assume a couple of things, think as if you were actually configuring a router. A simple example: if you need to configure an IP address, also use the no shutdown command.

A last piece of advice, study everything again, not just the things you think you missed, and take your time before you take the next try.

I'm on the 607 track, so finding materials is getting harder and harder.

Thank you for the link, I am intrested in everything I can find. By my calculations, I missed the CCNA by 4%.

Well, of the Cisco basics, not much has changed, if anything at all.

But for the 640-607 exam, the following link will make more sense:
