It's a pretty good lab, you could have saved a little if yo udid it all in pieces but your time is worth something too in not haing to chase down a bunch of parts.

I hope it serves you well :)

    Awesome lab.

A little pricey, but it sounds like you have all the extras you need (like the latest IOS and all the cables) so it's certainly a timesaver.

    Good luck with it!

I won't do the math, but using thumbnail calcualtions I think you did pretty well. Heck, it's all tested, it all works and no shoppinghassle. Great deal on the whole, I think.
I would have had more fun shopping, pricing and installing. But as Netwurk and dtlokee said, your time is worth something.
    Congrats, and have fun.

dtlokee: since your a CCIE....would this lab be able to carry me over to the CCIE labs? of course I have to add more HW, but will this survive?

skeleteks are real nice racks, imo. i like mine.

also, this thread is making me want to upgrade my lab to ccnp status :D... so tempting, but i don't think its in my best interest to spend $1000 on switches and anohter $500 on routers when i still need to schedule my ccna.

this rack is for CCNP, and i will probably build on to it to achieve other CCxP certs along the way towards CCIE. As t stands its more than enough to cover CCNP.

    for remote access i used

    http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/793/access_dial/comm_server.html

as a guide also setup ACL's as it suggested so it'll only be accessed internally and from my office and a few other places.

I'll be renting the rack once i finish CCNP. I need to recoup some of the $$ spent or invest on more equipment. discount for techexams users :)

Sorry I missed this post, yeah if you throw in a 3560 you have all you'll need for the current CCIE lab exams (provided you are running 12.4 on the 3640's and 2611XMs). Without the 3560 you can't practice things like pricate VLANS and wrr queueing features.

One should be enough, but if you plan on buying a workbook make sure you have what they're looking for or you may need to come up with a different solution to the problem, or none at all if there isn't one.
