Sorry I missed this post, yeah if you throw in a 3560 you have all you'll need for the current CCIE lab exams (provided you are running 12.4 on the 3640's and 2611XMs). Without the 3560 you can't practice things like pricate VLANS and wrr queueing features.

Very handy info... thanks for pointing this out!!! As I said I'm chasing L3 switches at the moment and will keep this in mind.....

Now I just need to upgrade my 3600 and 3600 series routers to 12.4

I jut got a 3550 for $150, it has a couple of bad ports and the standard image so I upgraded the image to EMI and I wont use all 24 ports in my lab. Now if I can find a 3560 for that price I will be done with my switches. I currently have 2 2950 and 1 3550.

I got the equipment from a current CCIE who's now pursuing the CCIE Voice. He's in the process of renewing his lab for the different requirements and I reaped the benefits. He was going to sell me a 7206vxr for $350 but I've already got one with twice the memory and modules so I passed and dumped that cash into my new house :)

No no no must not read lab pic posts anymore......! Cisco bug coming back....must resist........

I just installed two new ASA's (HA active-standby) at a customer site at have been doing a ton of ACL's in prep for a massive network change. All this cisco work is making me want to purchase a rack at home sooner than i wanted!

Really nice setups guys, I hope to see more numbers on these boards as we now have a few regulars with their numbers, please let us know how your studies are getting on, really helpful to those who are learning! :)

    Cheers,

I just picked up one of those Skeletek 28u racks on ebay for $190 shipped, brand new. The seller even threw in one pair of SKELETEK Universal brackets and 5 pairs of 2500/2600 rack mount kit brackets for free. Finally I will get some decent home lab management :)

You can also buy direct: http://dantraknet.com/

It's handy if you need more nuts and bolts, shelves, etc. I've ordered a few things from them, and they shipped them immediately. Great service.
