How do I make multiple bullets in Microsoft Word

Select columns from the Format menu...

Don't understand, care to go into more detail?

Sure:

- create the bulleted list
- select it entirely
- click the Format menu
- select Colums
- click the little 2 column icon below 'presets.

I'm using Word for Office XP and it isn't working at all for me, I see no separation of the columns.
