You're best bet is the 3550. You're looking at around $500-600 minimum. -

Any suggestions as to where to purchase used cisco equipment, or ebay about my best bet? -

If you're looking to get one fast then just hit ciscokits.com, but if you're patient you can probably save some money by going the ebay route... -

dr_jared88 Member Posts: 20 ■□□□□□□□□□one more really stupid question. are all 3550's layer 3? I believe they are; I just don't want to to make the mistake of buying one and finding out it isn't lol

the 3524 and 3548 are NOT 3550's, they are a L2 switch only. The only easy day was yesterday! -

Is it just an IOS version difference or are there any differences in the ASICS used between the SMI and EMI?I usually hang out on 224.0.0.10 (FF02::A) and 224.0.0.5 (FF02::5) when I'm in a non-proprietary mood.
