Interesting link, but it refers to CatOS commands

    He's using a 3550 and a 2900, both of which run IOS
Just took a look at that out of curiosity... a bit different looking isnt it:
Console> (enable) set vtp domain Lab_Network
    VTP domain Lab_Network modified
Console> (enable) set vtp mode server
    VTP domain Lab_Network modified
    Console> (enable) show vtp domain

vtp transparent mode can receive vlan information but will not send it on isnt that correct?
i would choose client and server vtp modes.. not transparent...
pruning isnt necessary on for to limit you to correct broadcasts..

just a thought....what do you guys think????
vtp transparent mode will recieve AND send vlan information it just will not save it, transparent switches are good for practicing redundandcy and stp , on a transparent switch you can save your own vlan configuration and it will have no affect on the other vlans. client mode will propogade and save the vlan information but you cannot change/add vlans, server is identical to client except you can add vlans.
    I wanna be ccie
