Hey i have a couple of 2501 routers I'm using to practice some of the commands with.
I have notieced this error comes up when i boot it up
the router works fine as far as i can tell. i have upgraded from IOS version 11 to 12.3, but i wasn't sure if did something wrong.

copy run start
that will save your running config to NVRAM...that should fix your issue for you. -

Todd Lammle's CCNA books will tell you that the "Notice" is a false positive, basically it's saying that the NVRAM was empty, and unless that notice still comes up after you have issue "copy run start", it basically means you don't have a startup-config. Or there was a "write erase" issued.Jack of all trades, master of none -
Netwurk Member Posts: 1,155 ■■■■■□□□□□You can avoid that message by using del nvram:startup-config instead of wr erase when you erase the config. Of course someone else probably erased it before selling or scrapping it
But as others have stated, it's a false positive.
Do a copy run star or a wr mem and you'll be all set
