Make sure you go over to Comptia's website and download the objectives. I had taken 3 test (2 A+ and network+) before I did that and they helped a lot to stay on topic during studying for the exam.
I've already done most of my studying and taken a bunch of practice tests where I am passing. I want to ace this thing though, so to put the icing on the cake I am going to take these objectives and do a powerpoint presentation for my roommate and my girlfriend using these as an outline. Gonna be one long-arse presentation!!

This should be the FIRST piece of advice anyone should get when asking about taking these tests. Not what books to read. I was studying for the Net+ test for a while when I looked at the official objectives and realized that I had gone way off base in some areas. This was due to my own fault and the sources of my information.
Excellent advice, Gratefullaz! You have earned 3,000 good karma points to be redeemed at your time of death (you need 30,000 for wings....).
I'll second that advice as well. I went through my A+ and Security+ before I actual even thought to pay attention to the exam objectives. They really help to focus your studying instead of going off on a tangent. Not that tangents are always bad, you can really learning something sometimes, but it isn't necessarily going to help you with the exam currently at hand so just tuck that thought behind an ear and get back to your focused studies.
