    I'm a big fan of SpyBot: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

I'm not familiar with the one you mentioned though, sorry.

Use a few to be sure:

    Spybot S&D
Ewido/Avg Antispyware (I like to run the web version on infected clients).
SuperAntiSpyware (This one is quite good at the more stubborn infections).

All 3 will run in safe-mode (and Safe-Mode With Networking for the online Ewido scan).

Besides those listed, I like EMSI A-Squared Free edition at http://www.ants-online.de/en/software/free/

I'll throw another two of my anti-spyware favs on the pile:

    Lavasoft Ad-Aware 2007 Free

    AVG Anti-Spyware Free Edition

I also have listed several free rootkit detectors on this blog page.

I have to agree with Murray. I run both Lavasoft and AVG on all my PC's in my home network.

You'll want to use at least two, I personally go with Ad-aware and Spybot. But if you're running into more serious stuff you'll probably want to get A-Squared which I heard handles it well.

I haven't tried AVG's Anti-Spyware yet, but I would imagine it'll be a good choice also since their AV isn't half bad.

spyware terminator was a piece of junk. stick w/ spybot, windows defender, superantispyware, or a combination of the 3. Ad-Aware used to be good.

You guys might also want to check out Threatfire, essentially it's a freeware HIPS (Host Intrusion Prevention System). I've been running it now for 2 weeks and resource usage is unnoticeable. http://www.threatfire.com/
