Built a new computer today, installed windows XP and VPC2007, all is well.
Installed a 2003 Domain controller, set it up for static ip, and all members DHCP
and setup a basic DNS.
Now for hours every XP client i install, i can add to the domain but when i reboot
it just sits there 'Applying your personal settings'......... forever !
I have remove, added users , computers in ADU and C but every time i add to
the domain and try to reboot and log on it ' Applying...........'
I have set up and address pool from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.100 and noticed
that only once was there an address leases of 192.168.1.11.
I 'may' think i have a problem with the DNS is this possible ?
Please please can someone help before the lot goes in the bin ?
Cheers

1MeanAdmin Member Posts: 157Do your clients point to your local DNS server and DNS forwarders point to your ISP DNS servers?
EDITED: If not, your logon DNS requests may be flying out into Internet first instead of going to your local DNS server.
BTW, Do your clients eventually get to the logon screen?
Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong. -
