Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1 Downloads

I use IE6 now, and my boss just asked my to upgrade to IE8 for testing....I'm going to try to get away with 7 first, even though i know it doesn't work right anyway....

Anyone know to get rid the favorites bar? It also shows up under my favorites menu at the bottom. So it has a link to favorites, from my favorites.....other than that, it works fine for me....

FYI: Apparently, the IE8 beta has an "Emulate IE7" button to allow access to Windows Update.

OK, so it's not Microsoft's fault; it's the fault of those 10,000,000 Web pages that do not follow the Acid2 standards and favor IE6/IE7 compatibility instead.

Now I'm really waiting for IE9...

in all seriousness, MS has a long way to go before getting on par with firefox in a consumer environment.

Actually, guys, FireFox 3.0 will have the same problem as IE8. FF3 also passes the Acid2 test suite, which means it won't properly render the same Web pages that IE8 has trouble with--unless it's run in FireFox 2.0 compatibility mode. Come to think of it, there are a lot of Web sites that are only designed for IE and don't render properly in FF2, so there will be even fewer Web sites that work with FF3 than IE8.

The bottom line is new Web browsers are now implementing the latest Web standards, but most Web sites aren't.
