Could be a faulty power supply unit, whats the voltage on it?

So what exactly happends, your using your computer, and boom it restarts? Does it restart when you load a certain program, or at random intervals?

I've seen that same problem on a win2kpro pc in our office. Couldn't understand what was wrong with it. Someones working on it, and just boom.... it reboots.

Brian and I are still having shutdowns. We replaced the power supply... it was bad!

Only when we start HD to HD or CD to HD transfer the system goes down.

Conflict with IDE and SATA HD. We moved the IDE HD to the server.

    It works!

Also check to see if you have proper cooling. ie. hsf

Because most motherboards now have a safety mechanism that shuts down your computer if the cpu reach a certain temperature (over heats).

    Try using a better powersupply.
