A return with good news

It's been awhile since I last posted, but it's gotten busy at work (and I just got back from a very nice and much needed vacation :) ).

However, I'm happy to report that the day before my vacation I passed the 642-901 exam! It was a very close shave, 811 was my score, but it's a pass. I am kind of disappointed that I didn't do better, though. I thought I had a better grasp of things than an 811 would merit, but I passed and that's the main thing! On to the 642-812!

    Congratulations! icon_thumright.gif

If you punted IS-IS -- and don't use it at work -- then you're probably okay. Otherwise grab Doyle and read a chapter when you get bored of studying for the BCMSN exam. :D

Yeah, I was really weak on IS-IS, since we don't use it at all. We only use OSPF.

Congrats. I understand how tough it can be to fit in studying and working. Good job man :)

    Thanks for the 'grats everyone!

Looking over the chapters for the BCMSN exam, it looks like there isn't as wide a range of topics as there was for the BSCI. Can anyone confirm/deny? Looks like they get REALLY deep into Spanning Tree, though.

BCMSN was more about technology and concepts and less about implementation from my experience.

Make sure that you have a sound understanding of the wireless requirements.
