MCSE to CCENT/CCNA

I have no experience with Cisco hardware, but as an Integration Engineer I believe it could help my current position as well as my career in the future.

Do any of you have any suggestions for hardware I could purchase/training material? I have seen CiscoKits.com but I would like to know what successful CCNAs have used. Thank you.

why dont you download Dynagen and have a play with that.
It is an excellent router emulator. The only problem is you need to source a cisco IOS.

    as for training material..

cbt nuggets, cisco press books, google :P

You can grab a 2501 for under $25.00 shipped if you look on ebay. You'll also need a transceiver since they have AUI ports.

Another option is to get a 2516, which has RJ45 ports.

Ciscokits is OK, just stay away from their kits that include 1900's

Thanks, guys. Good to know that the typical resources are still valid for Cisco. Knowing to avoid the 1900s is also the perfect kind of practical advice I need. I really have no familiarity with the hardware and might have purchased something I shouldn't. Thanks for the Dynagen tip, Alan. I had not heard of that at all.
