MCSA 2003 and MCSA 2003 security
wheely
I just want to make sure I'm right on something. I plan on starting my MCSA 2003 soon. I know i need to take the 290, 270 and 291. I'm going to use my security+ as my elective. My question is once i become MCSA I want to become MCSA:security also, so can i use my security+ and then take one more elective and get my MCSA:security?

Correct.

Thanks for the quick reply. Which other elective would be a good choice to take?

Your options are either 299, the general Server 2003 security exam, or one of the ISA exams (2000, 2004, or 2006).

I understand that i would either have to take the 299, 350 or 351, but in everyones opinion which one would they choose.

Some people recommend doing ISA to broaden your skill set, but if you're not going to be in a position where you're going to be using it, it won't do you a lot of good. There's no reason to take one of the older ISA exams unless you're going to be specifically using it; 2006 is already two years old.
I don't use ISA, so I'm going to be taking 299 for my MCSE: Security elective.

I concur with dynamik, when I'm at that point I plan on doing the 299 as well. Unless of course I magically find myself working with ISA at that time.

Just wanted to say thanks for the replies. 299 seems like the most logical choice.
