Passed OS - some pointers
Passed OS today with 695, after passing Hardware (64 a few weeks back. In my case the difficulty level seemed to be about the same.
Some things to remember about OS:
Know your System Properties, esp Comp name and Advanced tab>Performance>Advanced settings
Know system requirements, upgrade options and dual-boot possibilities
Know the network utilities and protocols (don't forget email protocols)
Know how to deal with errors eg. GPF, driver install failures
Know about basic virus problems and differences
Know basic DOS commands, (attrib, format, etc)
Know location of important files and how to edit them (98 and 2K/XP)
Know which options are available in which OS; 98, 2K, NT and XP
There was a little basic hardware stuff re printers and hw failures
There was some basic system utilities stuff too...
That's about all I can remember, but other stuff will come up too.
The 2 toughest practice exams were here and at mcmcse.com.
Thanks to the moderators and contributors here who have unknowingly given me so much encouragement.
Good luck to everyone!
