Make sure you can navigate the Cisco documentation CD with confidence because this is the only resource you will be allowed during the lab. Make the CD part of your regular study; if you are familiar with it, you can save time during the exam. As of March 2006, the documentation can only be navigated using the index; the search function has been disabled.

mikej412 Member Posts: 10,086 ■■■■■■■■■■I just searched the docs for "security configuration guide" -- and it flaked on the first try, but worked on the 2nd try.
I've noticed they have changed the search result page recently, and by the way it reacts sometimes, I'd guess they're still messing with it.:mike: Cisco Certifications -- Collect the Entire Set! -

That's just while in the CCIE lab. Search should work for everyone else. I had to search twice to get it to work just a second ago... -

If the UniverCD page is supposed to be identical to what you get on the Doc CD in the lab, wouldn't it make sense that they're changing the page on their website to better reflect the conditions of the CCIE lab exam? If you're able to search that page, and you spend your time leading up to the exam using the search function, it would be a pretty harsh wake-up call to have to get familiar with the menu-system while the clock is ticking on your test.

Paul Boz Member Posts: 2,620 ■■■■■■■■□□The DocCD isn't online to better suit the CCIE lab conditions. Cisco is more than likely having searchability issues due to the fact that they're centralizing their knowledge center. That's the reason why they're porting many of the DocCD's current pages elsewhere with URLs in their place.CCNP | CCIP | CCDP | CCNA, CCDA
