Need an explanation on what you are expecting and more of your configurations. Like I don't know what the D drive is. A secondary drive on the machine or a share on a file server. And do you need your users to not have access to some programs? Just explain your situation in more detail.

What kind of error do they get?
Do the event logs show anything?
    Are these XP machines?
Is D a second partition or a second hard drive?
Does this affect all your clients, or just a portion?

***Have you (or anyone else) changed the default security permissions of C or D?***

Give us some more info and we'll try to help! icon_cool.gif

More info needed or we'll all just be guessing. You only answered two of my questions. At this point we'd all have to google this, which I am assuming you already tried:

    Edit:
Another question, how long has this been going on, and did anything change or get updated/installed at the same time? In other words, is there a common denominator to this problem?

    DEAR sprkymrk

IT IS A issue only with domain clients not workgroup systems working around!!!
i have come across all those..
    but nothing is working
    let me explain

1.all clients have 2 hard disc partitions
2.folders-my documents ,desktop, application data are redirected
3.policies are applied that doesn't have any access denial to drives or folders.
4.we have work group as well as domain systems
5 the problem is only with domain users not work group clients
6.and it is not always it happens only at times providing that antivirus is upto date till now. and it updates every day.

    thanks again

    "2.folders-my documents ,desktop,application data are redirected "

This is a tough problem to troubleshoot due to the environment and the problems so detail is necessary.

"that s they cant copy from d drive or paste from it or paste in d drive. "

Explain the problems in more detail. What can't you copy? What is the source/destination? What error do they get? Is it in certain folders or in all folders?

If you have a normal workstation with 2 hard drives C and D then you WILL be able to copy between drives unless one drive is not working properly.

it is not problem with the drives or network

folder redirections are done and working 100%

when i login to domain client with user's id it is happening like this..that is only they are unable to copy rename and paste the files anywhere it is not a single drive in particular
    thank again buddy

    Moon:

Your English is pretty good, but I don't understand what you meant in #3 and #6, both of which may be important points. Can you try to explain those again please? Thanks!

    HI AGAIN
LET ME EXPLAIN THE STEPS U ASKED AGAIN

3.policies are applied that doesn't have any access denial to drives or folders.--means i did not apply any policies that affects access to drives and folders

6.and it is not always it happens only at times providing that anti virus is up-to date till now. and it updates every day. ----means the problem i have told you is not always!!mean to say it happens only sometimes and we have anti-virus software that is up to date .
