Mike Myers and Tracy Rosenblath say the USB 2.0 speed is 12 Mbps.
I noticed their book dissagrees with your answer. Who's right?

data transfer up to 480 Mbps. Wow, that's 'Firewire speed'.

I took another look at "Passport". I think they were referring to the two
speeds (slow & fast) of USB 1.1, not USB 2.0.

Webmaster Admin Posts: 10,292 AdminYep, I'm correct but nevertheless I'm going to rephrase the question, although USB 2.0 is designed to provide data rates up 480 Mb/s, it doesn't do that quite yet. Full speed USB devices signal at 12MB/s, low speed at about 1.5 MB/s.

cap2361 Member Posts: 17 ■□□□□□□□□□Ok, now I'm a little confused here! I did a report for hardware class on USB 2.0 and FireWire. The USB 1.1 was 12 Mbps and the USB 2.0 was 480 Mbps data transfer. The FireWire (latest) was 800 Mbps depending on the length of the cable and if it was copper or fiber optic. The comparison chart I found was on FireWire and USB 1.1. It lists FireWire at 400 Mbps and USB 1.1 at 12 Mbps. My resources were from pcmag and howstuffworks.
