I don't think I need any software to charge my cellphone (Motorolla K Red) via USB. When I connect the USB, it stays green for a few mins, then it goes off.
Any thoughts?

JDMurray Admin Posts: 13,089 AdminI have a Motorola RAZR and I bought the Motorola Phone Tools 4.0 pack, which comes with two different USB charging/data cables and Phone Tools software and drivers for Motorola cell phones. At least the drivers must be loaded for Windows to recognize the phone and charge it. I don't know if the Windows USB drivers are available separately, but there are "hacked" Motorola drivers distributed without license via P2P and such, but I don't have any experience with them.

JDMurray Admin Posts: 13,089 AdminIs your USB cable from Motorola? I don't know if their cable is wired differently. My RAZR charges using the Motorola OEM Original USB to Mini-USB Data Cable (SKN6371C). Here's a CNET discussion about phone charging and this cable.
