auto cross devices
Ok some cisco devices I have noticed will work with straight through and cross over cables.
But my co-worker is saying it depends on the device they are talking to...
This doesn't really make sense to me. Can anyone explain?

the feature I am reffering to is called:
Auto-MDIX
I got a 2960G and a hub. They will not talk to each other unless I use a cross over cable.
Now it looks like the 2960 doesn't have the auto-MDIX. Which I guess I found to be kind of odd.
Because in the past I used and ASA 5520 and 5540 to connect to this same hub, with both cross over and straight through cables and if memory serves me both cable types work....encrypt the encryption, never mind my brain hurts.
