I think you'll get a good grasp of what people who took the exam think by reading previous posts. They usually give input that is very helpful (topics to focus on; materials to use; whatnots etc.) But a general advice would be: study hard; stay away from dumpz; use a good prep exam; and don't let the exam scare ya.

The best advice anyone can give is study, study, study! Know your stuff, these tests are not easy.

yup. read your book(s) and go through as many of the treads in the network+ forum here, and, dare i say, other certification forums for opinions and other angles on stuff.
