While I like the fact that the changes make the BSIT much shorter, I'm not sure they've maintained the depth the program had before. Now, if they changed the one programming class required now to Java, and changed the one database required to Oracle (or maybe MySQL or MS SQL). . . the program would be in better shape.
Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.

Well I failed the Project+ beta, so that makes my degree path that much longer.

Thats what I get for going in without even attempting to study.

This program has been certified by the National Security Agency’s Information Assurance Courseware Evaluation (IACE) Program. This certification verifies that WGU's courseware meets the requirements established by the Committee on National Security Systems National Training Standards No. 4011 (Information Systems Security Professionals) and 4012 (Senior Systems Managers).

    I'm torn between:

"Shame!! Shame on you for disrespecting the exam and the process!! Shame!!"

    or

    "No Guts, No Glory."

Either way it's almost the weekend. Go drown your sorrow (guilt) drunken_smilie.gif or celebrate your bravado. drunken_smilie.gif

    LOL.

It was Comptia so I figured I could just wing it and pass.

I guess my 100% lack of ever doing "book" style project management left my woefully unprepared.

Why did it only have to be the MS degree? icon_sad.gif

I know, right? I'm kinda upset about that. But, since I won't be starting until next year hopefully they get something done for the Bachelors IT-Security degree.

Well, they just rearranged the BS:IT-Security so they then have to wait all over again for that to be evaluated. From what I understand it's a long bureaucratic wait icon_wink.gif

Yeah, I figured that, lol. With the Cisco curriculum they added it shouldn't be a problem. Even if the degree gets the Information Assurance Courseware Evaluation (IACE) Program(Pre-requisite for the CAE) I would be happy :)

In June I'm going to send them my transcripts and see what classes get waived. I plan on finishing ICND2 for the CCNA before I begin.

I got all my transcripts in FINALLY, taking the assessment tomorrow on my day off. Scheduled my CISA exam in June tonight as well. Already finished a couple of chapters in the CISA study guide. Going to be busy for a while.

I had Spencer and had no issues with him. Then again I was proactive and made sure I had everything ready to go before he even asked for it.

My only issues with Spencer was lack of him following through with promised times and dates. He was very helpful when I was working with him, but he was difficult to get to call within 30 minutes or so of schedule times along the way to becoming a student. Other than that it wasn't bad, but it really threw wrenches into several of my days and I had to delay my process a couple weeks as a result because my free time during the days due to my job is limited and fitting time in after a scheduled time wasn't kept is difficult for me.

In hindsight though, he was very helpful when my former school was being incredibly difficult with getting transcripts out to WGU as I was enrolling into a Master's program.

As far as your transcripts Hyper-Me. If you haven't already, I would get a certified copy from your school ahead of time so you can mail/fax/e-mail them in yourself so you know it's handled. I didn't do that initially, and I should have known better given my experience with the school I attended for my B.S. In the end weeks were wasted and I ended up getting them myself and sending them myself anyways. Transcripts were the last point for me and I think that process started about a week or so after the review board looked over my application and prior education to be sure I was a good fit for the MSIA program, not sure how they work things for the BS programs.
