Pre-Installing Microsoft Products and Technologies
My boss is making me take it and there isn't much for study material out there besides what's on the microsoft website. I'm hoping someone here has passed this test before and could tell me what they used to prep.
Thanks guys and/or gals

BZ3 Member Posts: 10 ■□□□□□□□□□Yeah I know that.
I was asking about this exam because I've been asked to pass it for the company's microsoft gold status. This thread has been here for a few days now i'm assuming no one has ever taken it?Life wasn't meant to be spent sitting in a cubicle all day listening to eight different bosses drone on about mission statements -
dynamik Banned Posts: 12,312 ■■■■■■■■■□If you search the site for this exam, there is only one other thread about it, and his questions also went unanswered. Personally, this is the first I've seen anyone mentioned this exam. It doesn't look like you're going to get much help. Sorry.
Be sure to post back after you pass, so anyone looking for this in the future can have some guidance -

BZ3 Member Posts: 10 ■□□□□□□□□□yeah, well thanks for the replies anyway. I really wasn't expecting much of a response. 74-134 isn't required of the usual microsoft paths anyway soLife wasn't meant to be spent sitting in a cubicle all day listening to eight different bosses drone on about mission statements

doom969 Member Posts: 304This exam does not give the mcp or mcts status so its not very popular to say the least.
The only way its useful, is to gain the ''OEM Hardware solutions competency'' wich will give you some points toward your microsoft partnership.(20, I beleive)
However you can also get this competency based only on the sales number you have with ms through registered distributors and customer references, wich is the way most systems integrator/builders goes....
If your working toward gold status, dont forget that competencies cant count over 60 points.(out of 135)
So, you might be better off choosing competencies that are based on exams that count toward mcse/a such as "network infrastructure solutions" or "security solutions" (respectively the 70-290 and 70-293 exams, if i remember correctly).
hope that helpsDoom969

marco71 Member Posts: 152 ■■■□□□□□□□As far as I remember, 74-134 (or 70-282) counts for MCP status of SBS (Small Business Specialist)

astorrs Member Posts: 3,139 ■■■■■■□□□□That's a partner status. Nothing actually shows up on your transcript when you pass 70-282. If you work for a partner they will be able to apply for the specialization, then they can list it for clients.

astorrs Member Posts: 3,139 ■■■■■■□□□□Like I said, nothing gets added other to your transcript other than the pass of the exam (you get MCP status when you pass any Microsoft exam).
