I'm about to begin studying for the 70-291 and I was hoping to get some book recommendations. I've heard some bad stuff about the MSFT books ... in the past I've used them and I thought they were okay?

MS Press for 70-291 is good.
If you can get the CBT Nuggets videos, they're a big help, too.

Yep, this is the one:

I've gone through it a couple of times, and I thought it was well written (one of the better MS Press books IMO). The only thing I didn't like was the way they taught subnetting. The 291 CBT Nuggets or any of Bryant's CCNA material teaches this well.

I used the MS Press book, too.
No complaints.
I also used ExamForce and Transcender for the practise tests.
