1. Plan your attire the night before to make sure it is proper and ready. The last thing you want to do is go searching for a missing sock or show up in wrinkled clothes.
2. Make sure to arrive early and plan for traffic. Generally you will want to arrive 5-15 minutes early to the interview.
3. Sit up straight and talk slowly but audibly. This shows confidence and also highlights professional appearance. Most of us tend to talk rapidly when nervous so make sure to slow it down just a little bit.
4. If you do not know the answer to the question, do not try to fake it! Admit that you do not know the answer but you have the knowledge and drive to find out. They arent looking for a textbook (I hope) but they are looking for someone who can take initiave to find out the solution.
5. Highlight previous experience. Ask yourself, what were your Key contributions to previous positions? What career milestones have you been proud of?
6. Thank the interviewer(s) for their time. Keep it simple and to the point, do not beg for the job but a simple "I would like to thank everyone for this oppurtunity and I look forward to working with you."CCIE Sec: Starting Nov 11 -

what types of systems do they use?
also
come up with several well though questions regarding the business on a high and low level. This shows interest in the company.
So once you answer the first two questions post back and we can give you more tips as to some things that you might be able to go over to calm your nerves.encrypt the encryption, never mind my brain hurts. -

Keep eye contact with all interviewers equally if possible, but talk more directly with the one who questioned you
Be positive about yourself in all of your answers
Dont highlight weak areas, turn any weakness in to a personal strength. Quick learner, that kind of thing
Bring & use mints before the interview, do not chew gum during
Dress smart
Firm handshake
Breath
Relax
Dont fidget
Take me or leave me attitude, but not arrogant -

RS_MCP Member Posts: 352Interview turned out very well. I do not know why I was in such a panic...
They asked me a few technical questions & some personal experience questions.
I answered all of them and did bullshit in some...(That just naturally came out)
Apart from that they seemed happy & now will respond earliest by monday!
Waiting for end result... -
RS_MCP Member Posts: 352I am going to hear the result this Friday or coming Monday.
I was up against 2 other candidates. For some reason, I do not think I will be offered this position. Its quite upsetting because I had come this far
Only good feeling is that there were 500 applications, 100 Screened, 50 Phone Interview's and only 3 candidates made it to the final Interview (I was one of them)
Lets see what happens... -

blargoe Member Posts: 4,174 ■■■■■■■■■□The most competition I've ever had was about 50. The other times I was willing to work much cheaper because of inexperience (and that's what they were looking for) or I went through a recruiter and they filtered out most of the rest.IT guy since 12/00

The offices are beautiful and career prospects are fantastic alongside the benefits.
This is why there were so many applications!

I shouldn't talk though. I often celebrate simply surviving another day with a few beers.

Any tips or suggestions as this is my first time and role within the IT sector?
Thank you once again... -

Dont patronise.
Users are not always right, and can sometimes get a bit stroppy. Remain calm, unclench that fist.
Find some way to relieve stress.
All hopelessly generic answers I know, but true. -
