Hi every one! Can anyone help me this problem?
I'm a CCNA student. I got a ciso 2503 router with an old IOS version. I need to upgrade it to at least 12.0. I've got the ios file I want to install, c2500-i-l-120-5. I type "copy tftp flash". I get access to the tftp server, the old IOS is erased (so now there is no IOS in the computer). But then i get an error message. The new IOS won't load on the router. This is the output I get:
**************************************************************************
Copy 'c2500-i-l-120-5.bin' from server
as 'c2500-i-l-120-5.bin' into Flash WITH erase? [yes/no]y
Erasing device... eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ...erased
Loading c2500-i-l-120-5.bin ... [timed out]
TFTP from 192.168.1.5 failed/aborted
Flash copy took 0:00:31 [hh:mm:ss]
***************************************************************************
The partition I use is of the type read/write and there is enough space.
By the way I managed to copy the IOS from the router to the TFTP server. Just not the other way
I would be very happy if anyone has a solution.
Thanks in advance

korszo Member Posts: 31 ■■□□□□□□□□If you copied from the router to tftp, I would think that proves connectivity. I assume you checked connectivity first by pinging the tftp server as recommended?
I would double check the file name spelling and make sure the TFTP server is pointing to the proper directory where the file resides on the tftp server.
If you have connectivity, it's a syntax / spelling error in the command or the file does not exist on the tftp server.
