outlook express using hotmail help

im trying to setup outlook express to use my hotmail account but when i try to send email i got a sending mail error. can anyone help me how to setup this up. im starting to learn outlook and windows live mail pls help.

    I tried this awhile back. What I found out at the time which was back in 2006 was that hotmail didnt support imap so it couldn't be setup in outlook express. At least this is what was told to me by msn's website. After doing a little research I found that you have to have a paid account to work with OE. But free accounts work with office 2003-07. There are free pop tools that I guess translate between hotmail and OE but you cant send out because there is no way to get smtp working. Hope that helps.

    I wont waste your time looking at OE as its due to be withdrawn very soon.

    You can setup Outlook 03/07 to use Windows Live Mail by following the below article:

    Or from just using Live Mail.
