Taking CCNA exam tomorrow morning... [UPDATE: PASSED!!]

JayrodEFJayrodEF Member Posts: 111 ■□□□□□□□□□
Any last minute tips/suggestions to ease my passage into CCNA-dom? I think I've studied and labbed it up enough. I'm just a little worried about the time limit. I do pretty well on any practice test I take, so I'm fairly confident. There's always the second-shot offer out there too. Thanks to this forum for lots of info!

[UPDATE]
Well, I'm now a CCNA! Feels good. I passed with a 907 with just a few minutes to spare. The 2nd to last question was very in-depth, so I spent pretty much the time I had left on that question. Overall, I think it was easier than I had anticipated. Either way though, I'm really glad to have knocked it down on the firt attempt. I just used Odom's books for ICND1 and ICND2 along with the practice tests that came with it and a lot of time playing around with my cisco equipment at home. I've been studying for about two months. So for those who are taking it soon, as long as you've put in the study time, you should've have a problem. Thanks again!

For those interested my home lab right now consists of:

1x 2501
1x 2514
1x 2509 (terminal server)
1x 2611
1x 2610
1x 2924
1x 2912
1x 2950

I wouldn't recommend either the 2924 or 2912, had I known better I probably would've just gotten another 2950. eh, live and learn :D

    PASS!!!

Watch the time management. Don't spend more than 10 minutes on a SIM -- if you can't get it in that time all your doing is taking time away from "easier questions."

Make sure you read the questions carefully. And read all the answers. Then read the question AGAIN. Then, and only then, select the correct answer(s). If you don't read the question carefully you may miss something and jump on the "obvious answer" -- but the right answer to the wrong question doesn't give you any points. Plus a methodical approach could help settle your nerves.

    Good Luck! icon_thumright.gif
