Which cert is the funnest?

TechieTalkieTechieTalkie Member Posts: 2 ■□□□□□□□□□
Hi, I'm curious what are people's opinions on the different IT certs and why they think it's fun.

I'm looking forward to starting a course

CEH is fun for obvious reasons, but maybe that's just me.

No cert is fun studying for. It takes a long time to study for some certs with lots of hours going into running labs with different objectives. Not sure any of this is fun but its how you have decided to make a living. The reward is getting a nice paying job and advancing your experience.

But i have to agree that the CEH would be the most intersting CERT along with cisco CISSP exam.

Now that where the fun begins.

I enjoyed Network+....I liked filling in the gaps about networking in general with that cert. Even though I'm doing a Microsoft Cert now (70-270) I'll probably switch to Cisco because I've always enjoyed the networking side more.

This was mentioned awhile ago, and nothing came of it.

As you can see, the post and blog are about two years old.

Just from what I've looked into it looks to me that studying for the RHCE looks like the most fun. It seems like it has the most fun test to me. Of course you can call me weird because I think that building DNS servers is fun.

P.S. the English major wives in here are wanting to have your hide for lunch for "funnest." :)

Oh yea. I forgot about the original question. I'm going to throw in another vote for the CEH as the most funnest cert. Some Linux work and CCNA comes first though icon_sad.gif

Definitley the CEH for something I will eventually obtain but maybe one day this one will be possible which looks to be the best out there for security http://www.giac.org/certifications/gse.php.

Asked a couple people at work, they all liked the idea of CEH as "funnest" but none of them want "hacker" written on their resumes.

Good point, make sure they just put "(3r71ƒ13Ð 37h1(4£ H4(|{3r" instead. ;)

It looks good to the people who can appreciate it, and you can always leave it off your resume if you feel that it's going to be a problem with a particular employer.

It mattered enough to the US government (http://www.eccouncil.org/CNDA%20FAQ.htm) for EC-Council to offer the CEH as the "Certified Network Defense Architect" (CNDA) for people in government/military jobs.

I really enjoyed studying for the A+ the most. It was fun to study a subject that is also a hobby. Because of the adaptive testing method used at the time, the actual A+ exams I took back in 2003 were a joke, but studying for them was fun.
