Citrix offers a free version of XenServer without a time limit. It does have a limit on physical memory.

Its a nice product we have been using it in testing right now for a netflow collector and some other network monitoring stuff. The only draw back I saw was when I wanted to try it out at home if your hardware doesn't have the vt support windows machines may not work.

Cool. Did that just come out?

I've never played around with this before, so it'll be good to get a little experience with it.

    Thanks for the info.

Not sure. XenServer came up in a discussion I had yesterday about a new project. When I went looking for some information I found it.

    Hello there...

I'm a new member in this forum.

I'm interested in using XenServer Express Edition for our virtual environment.

According to your post, it said that XenServer Express Edition has a limitation on physical memory. From the link, i read that XenServer Express Edition support for physical memory 1 - 4 GB and 4 guests active simoultaneously.

However, from this link (http://www.citrix.com/English/ps2/products/subfeature.asp?contentID=1680964) i found that XenServer Express Edition support for physical memory 1 - 128 GB and unlimited guests active simoultaneusly.

It's kind of confusing, since both links come from the same source (www.citrix.com).

    Any ideas about this limitation?

    Thanks in advance.

    cut and paste error? :D
If you cannot express in a sentence or two what
you intend to get across, then it is not focused
    well enough.
