hi all,
i have a 2950 switch that when i put the power lead in it will start powering up, however the switch doesnt perform any of the POST tests so all the LEDS dont light up at all they just seem dead. Could this be a hardware failure or and IOS issue
if anyone can help it will be much appreciated
thanks

Is your console cable a serial or usb->serial adapter? -
hodgey87 Member Posts: 232well with my other 2950 it will light up the ports as it performs the post tests but i get nothing from this one at all.
Im using a usb - serial connection but this isnt faulty as i used it for my other router -
gojericho0 Member Posts: 1,059 ■■■□□□□□□□my guess would be a hardware failure. I'd try to open it up and reseat any memory or cards just in case they may have a bad connection to the circuit board causing something to malfunction

You tried resetting it using the button? -
