taking the CCNA today

in CCNA & CCENT
About an hour and a half away from taking the test, just going over some notes and running the boson practice test software to get my brain ready. I feel fairly confident on the material and commands as I've been studying regularly for the past 3 months and I have a home lab. Having the second shot offer really helps with the pre-exam nerves as the worst that can happen is I find out my weak areas and have a nice little peek at the exam before trying it again for free .
I'll be back to this thread later on this evening to give my views on the test and if I passed or failed.

My sim questions were early on and I completely nailed them which helped to boost my confidence for the remainder of the test. My big weak area from the objectives is definitely wireless and it showed. My only real complaint about the exam is there was a combination drag and drop / sim question (has anyone seen one of these before? maybe I should have paid more attention during the tutorial at the start) which was not only confusing as all hell but the directions and the questions related to it were worded very poorly.
Deciding between starting CCNP which is more what I'm interested in or starting MCSA which I deal with more on a day to day basis at work. Either way I'm very excited to move on from the CCNA.
Biggest help in preparing was the CBT Nugget vids as well as hands on experience in my home lab, both I would highly recommend.WIP: IPS exam -

Slowhand Mod Posts: 5,161 ModCongratulations! Sounds like you had a positive experience, despite the wonky question-format. At this stage in the game, unless you're really being pressured to do MCSA/MCSE, I'd say stick with the Cisco path until your company moves to Server 2008 and you're ready to tackle something in the MCITP track.

My 2 cents would be stay with the Cisco track. Ultimately, I think there will be more money to be made and it seems to me (just my opinion) that the IT world is more saturated with M$ certs than Cisco. -

As far as the second chance go, I spoke with vue a few weeks ago and they said that before, you had to call to register for it. But now you can do both (either over the phone or on the web).
I'd still call if I were you.CCIE Wr: In Progress...
