Vista Service Pack Issue when installed
Okay so here is my problem but first let me give you a little background on my setup.
I currently have a Cisco 2610 Router and a 2924 Switch setup. Attached to that switch is my 2003 Server which is doing DHCP and DNS for me.
When i install Vista Service Pack 1 on my Vista x64 Business machine my internet connection will go away and i can no longer get on the internet. For some reason it cant find a connection to the internet and the globe goes away on the network icon. I have tried this a few times with the same results each time. As soon as i uninstall the service pack my internet starts working again.
Does anyone have a clue to why this is happening.

dynamik Banned Posts: 12,312 ■■■■■■■■■□Is your Vista machine a DHCP client? What's the output of ipconfig and what happens when you do an ipconfig /renew? Are you able to communicate with other machines on your lan? How are you trying to access the internet (IE, Firefox, etc.)?

JDMurray Admin Posts: 13,089 AdminCheck if your NIC vendor has updated drivers necessary for SP1. If not, it might be fixed by simply deleting the network connection and the NIC device and re-adding them while SP1 is installed.
