Managed to Pass Today

stlsmoorestlsmoore Member Posts: 515 ■■■□□□□□□□
Well I took the test today and scored a 778, over all the test wasn't as bad as I expected. Once I did the many practice tests (techexams, measureup, transcender) it gave me a feel of how long the questions were. I used Sybex and Microsoft Press books for my reading material. I also have a lab with Win 2003, a few XP PC's on my home network, and a couple of VMware machines. I'm going to finish up with my MCSA hopefully then move on to the CCNA lord willing. This website helped out ALOT...especially just browsing the forum.

    Great job!

May I recommend doing CCNA prior to 70-291 if you are not too experienced already. A lot of things that Microsoft has on that exam but the material doesn't cover well. Cisco does a great job when comes to talking about concepts that Microsoft fails to.

Really, I came close to taking the CCNA years ago (it was a course taught at our highschool) and I recently did a CCNA test on here and was surprised by how much I remembered.

    congrats on your new status!

If i remember correctly, there is a discussion in the 290 or 291 forum that discusses whether the CCNA will help you regarding those tests. check out what they have to say.

Good job. When you go take the MS 291 exam some of the material is good primer for the CCNA.

Thanks all, I remember quite a bit from my CCNA studying from the past. Like subnetting I could pretty much do in my head at one point.
