Thinking about sitting 70-270, but already have 70-271 book

Ok so I just passed my A+ and thinking about getting MCP next. I want to take the 70-270 first but I don't have any study material for it yet. However I do have a book for the 70-271, and I want to know if this will be a sufficient study guide for 70-270? Or is the 70-271 comparable to the 270? Or does the 271 have equal prestige as 270 and can i just ignore it?

    70-270 is for the MCSA/MCSE path and the 70-271 is for the MCDST path, so choose the exam based on the path you are looking to head towards

    I will add that I highly doubt the 70-271 book would be enough to pass the 70-270 exam
