i think better to change your description like this :
transport : data convert into segment/data stream
network : segment into packet/datagram
datalink : packet into frame
physical : frame into bit to transmit..
how about that ??
it is much more simple... the More I know, that is more and More I dont know. -

Bits - Physical Layer
