The reinstallation of the system is not likely to remove a virus as some viruses affect the Master Boot Record (pre OS boot). If they are instantly reloaded to memory even with a format I wonder if /MBR parameter helps here?

I think you're correct, an fdisk /mbr should do it.All things are possible, only believe.
