Lab question

Hello everyone.

Been reading these forums for a while and decided I needed to ask some questions.

First off a little background info. I am part owner of a small computer recycling company and have acquired some Cisco gear over the past few months. I’m currently studying for my CCENT/CCNA and will be going for my CCVP Cert after that. I also am planning on wiring my house with cat 6e and installing a VOIP network with 6 phones. Also planning on linking my parents house up north with my house down here ( so they can have a phone up there and still be local to where I’m at) and maybe a few friends houses as well

I’m working on building up my lab for the CCVP cert.( That way I can add to it if needed)

The big questions I have are.

1. What gear should I keep?
2. What gear should I try to buy?
3. What gear should I sell?

Here is what I have. (please bear with me I have a lot)

2x VG200
2x C-1912-XL
1x C-2924-XL
1x C-2908-XL
2x 2501
1x 2620
1x PIX520
6x 7960
12x 7940
8x 7910
1x 4003 case
2x WS-X4148-RJ
1x WS-4012

I all so have the flowing modules

2x Voice 2v
1x NM-HDV With 4 DSP Modules.
1x VWIC 1MFT-T1
1x WIC 1B S/T
1x 2FXS

Thanks for you time.

Tom

Check out the http://www.techexams.net/forums/ccvp/29111-ccvp-faq-please-read-before-posting.html thread for Lab hints and tips

    Keep:
    2x VG200
    1x C-2924-XL
    2x 2501
    1x 2620
    6x 7960
    12x 7940
    8x 7910
    2x Voice 2v
    1x NM-HDV With 4 DSP Modules.
    1x VWIC 1MFT-T1
    1x 2FXS
VG200s don't route, but they can support the NM-2V modules with Analog WICs.

You can use the 2924 as a switch

2501s may have some early gateway/gatekeeper code

The 2620 may support the NM-HDV with the VWIC-1MFT-T1 installed.

The 7960 and 7940 are great for lab use. The 7910 should work too -- but you don't need that many lab phones.
