For the CCNA exam simulation questions do you need to save the running config before exiting the question?
Thanks

I would always operate under the assumption that you are on a live device and act accordingly.I usually hang out on 224.0.0.10 (FF02::A) and 224.0.0.5 (FF02::5) when I'm in a non-proprietary mood.

In the real world, you will be saving them.. quite often.. it doesn't hurt to save it more than once either.. better safe than sorryCCIE - COMPLETED! -
mikej412 Member Posts: 10,086 ■■■■■■■■■■The answer (from Cisco) is in theCCNA FAQWebmaster wrote:: How do the actual simulator questions work and how are they scored?
As mentioned in Cisco's Certifications Online Support section, the sims carry greater weight than regular test questions in calculating the final score. This is something most people do know or at least assume, which only led to more questions. Understandable.
Below are two quotes from the Certfications Online Support section at cisco, the first is rather logical...Cisco wrote:Router simulation exams items will accept abbreviated commands that an actual Cisco router will understand. For example: 'Show Config' or ‘Sho Cofig’ or ‘Sh Conf’ and ‘Router #show ip protocol’ or ‘router # show ip prot’ would be acceptable. The exam commands must include the correct spacing, spelling and marks (#@!?).Cisco wrote:The router simulation exam questions do not require candidates to save the configuration prior to exiting the simulation question to receive credit.
I saved my configs and didn't lose any points for the "extra configuration.":mike: Cisco Certifications -- Collect the Entire Set! -

In an exam I often save twice exit the simulated host, then got back into the simulated host and check that my config is still there then save again and move on....

aaronchristenson Member Posts: 261 ■■■■□□□□□□Well, I failed. Not a terribly big deal. I will just retake it in a week or two. I did not realize that you could not go back to review your answers like on Microsoft tests.
I will let you all know when I take it again.

Sorry to hear about that. Best of luck next time. Be sure you read about and try the sample exam that Cisco provides. Not knowint that you cannot review answers at the end of the exam is something you could have learned about before the exam and could have affected your strategy.
I wish you the best on the next attempt.I usually hang out on 224.0.0.10 (FF02::A) and 224.0.0.5 (FF02::5) when I'm in a non-proprietary mood.

Can you do sh run on the new CCNA?! When I took it you couldn't do a sh run on any of the sims or simlets. You had to know the specific show command for the information that you are looking for.Give a man fire and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.
