Does passing BSCI renew a CCNA

I have about 11 months left on my CCNA. Got my CCNA before this whole CCENT/CCNA business.

If I pass the BSCI exam does this automatically renew my CCNA or must I do something else to renew my CCNA? Maybe anyone in a similar situation can advise?

passing any 642 professional level exam will renew your CCNA.

Yes, passing BSCI renews your CCNA. Taking any pro-level (642-nnn) will renew CCENT, CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, and any other pro-level cert. Taking any CCIE written exam will renew every other Cisco cert, including the speciality exams. Have a look at the "Recertification" listing at the bottom of the descriptions of certs on Cisco's IT certification page.

CCNA certifications are valid for three years. To recertify, either pass the current CCNA exam, or pass the ICND2 exam, or pass any 642 professional level or Cisco Specialist exam (excluding Sales Specialist exams), or pass a current CCIE written exam.
