Detailed Explanation of Switch Interface output

New to the forum, hoping to learn alot from all the people here
I've been searching around the to find an explantion of the interface output e.g:
Switch1#sh int gi2/3
GigabitEthernet2/3 is up, line protocol is up (connected)
Hardware is C6k 1000Mb 802.3, address is 000b.fdbd.705a (bia 000b.fdbd.705a)
Description: d_e1000g0

Specifically the last two lines in the output above. I recently saw the values in "0 PAUSE output" incremeting but could not work out what was causing it.
Finding it difficult to find info on the net about this.
