This might sound like a stupid question but I was thinking about getting MCSA/MCSE already even though I might not be taking it for a while. It's $115 on amazon.com. Right now I'm studying for 70-621 and after that I want to take A+, N+ and eventually MCSA/MCSE.

I'm studying for 70-621 and the book doesn't really cover active directory that much or setting up DC or DNS/DHCP. Do you guys think it would be useful to have that books handy? Will the price really go down that much?

Going for:N+, MCSA/MCSE.

The 621 Exam is not suppose to have anything to do with active directory or DNS or DHCP stuff. Its strictly a Vista Exam but not in a domain environment.

I was not aware of that. I did not see anything about that when i looked at Microsofts site so i may be wrong.

Best of luck on the exam either way

Actually, 621 is a combination of 620 and 622, so it is going to cover more advanced topics.

That's a good price for the books, but you could probably get by without them. If you run dcpromo, it'll setup a DC and DNS for you, and DHCP (at least for what you're doing) would be a no-brainer. They're good books, and if you want them, go for it. I just don't think they're necessary for 621. Any problems you run into could easily be solved with a few google queries or by asking here.

Good luck with your studies :D
