Best DVD Ripper software for free

Anyone recommend DVD Ripper software which gets the job done and is free???!!!

    DVDDecrypter with DVD43. Oldies but goodies.

    If you want to pay for more user-friendly software, I really like the stuff from XiliSoft. Their stuff easily pays for itself after only a few uses.

    I've never tried them on Vista. They should work on x64 if your burner already does. Maybe no updates have been necessary.

    many years ago, in the windows 2000 pro time, I used Gordian Knot (GKnot), a DVD-ripper/decrypter and DivX-encoder/AVI-creator; I really miss that days...
