in CCNA & CCENT
hey all its been a while since ive posted but ive been hitting the books hard. Ive only got 4 chapters left in sybex. my question is should i finish my sybex book and then test or should i reread the book, read in Wendells book or what. im really making headway here but i need some direction.

skeet2331 Member Posts: 87 ■■□□□□□□□□It is hard for us to tell you if you are ready. Getting some experiences on real gear would be very helpful. I read the Odem book twice and Chris Bryant's material before ever attempting the test. I also had a home lab setup to test along with packet tracer.

nel Member Posts: 2,859 ■□□□□□□□□□i would recommend getting some lab's in. especially for the icnd2 side of the curriculum. Its helped me understand the concepts and learn the technology WAY WAY better.
If i were you i would also read from a second source. Im reading odom's book and its v.gd.
If you can afford it the cbt nuggets videos are extremely helpful. Ive found the icnd2 video's to be quite priceless for my studies (and i dont usually rely on vids)
Also if you want some lab materials the chris bryant stuff comes highly recommended by mostXbox Live: Bring It On

shednik Member Posts: 2,005I'd have to say labbing it up with real gear is the single most important thing to do in your exam prep!! I wouldn't have felt so prepared if I hadn't done it that way.

I read the material, and do LOTS of lab/hands on practice.. while I attempt to do the lab I know when i feel weak in something.. so then i go read about that particular section more, and don't come back until it all makes sense.. Sometimes i combine the lab + the re-reading and it helps things fall into place.CCIE - COMPLETED!
