I was wondering what people's experiences were searching for a new job before and after they received their MCSA/MCSE? What kind of things did you noticed before and afterwards?

I personal learnt a few new tricks that have saved effort and time. However, I did not have any certifications back then.

I think that certification brings people to a level where they are talking the same language. That is that they can relate with other MCDST/MCSA/MCSE (or what ever certification path) are taking about. In a work place this common language is essential.
