Anyone know what might cause these errors on an XP SP3 client of WSUS 2.0 server? Have a server 2003 client that does get updates from same wsus 2.0 server.
The end of windowsupdate.log file from xp client:

dales Member Posts: 225I have not tried it but if its just a workstation I would be tempted to delete the contents of the windows/softwaredistribution/downloads to clear its pre downloaded updates thinking that it might have corrupted the sp3 download as it got it.
Again not sure what side effects this may have but if I was getting desperate.......Kind Regards

Mikdilly Member Posts: 309Deleted everything in the \download folder, ran wuauclt /detectnow, get same errors in windowsupdate.log. Went back into \download folder on client, one folder was there, went into it and tried to run the update. It comes back with an error 'Setup could not verify the integrity of the file update.inf. Make sure the cryptograhic service is running on this computer.'
The service is running. Did a search on the error on yahoo, found a link to this site:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822798/ja
I believe after step for reregistering dll files the Update icon popped up in the tray, updates are now working, thank you dales, your post pushed me in the right direction. -
