Is it common for a MSFC card to utilize both CEF and MLS RP?
We have a 7206 layer 3 switch that has MLS RP IP disabled
[sh mls rp
ip multilayer switching is globally disabled
ipx multilayer switching is globally disabled
ipx mls inbound acl override is globally disabled
mls id is 0009.b6f0.3808
mls ip address 0.0.0.0
mls ip flow mask is unknown
mls ipx flow mask is unknown
number of domains configured for mls 0]
But on the MSFC card is shows MLS RP enabled and I can view the FIB table as well
[sh mls rp
ip multilayer switching is globally enabled
ipx multilayer switching is globally disabled
ipx mls inbound acl override is globally disabled
mls id is 0004.4d9d.54c0
mls ip address 10.91.1.4
mls ip flow mask is destination
mls ipx flow mask is unknown]
[sh ip cef
Prefix Next Hop Interface
0.0.0.0/32 receive
6.0.0.0/8 10.91.1.2 Vlan2
8.0.0.0/8 10.91.1.2 Vlan2
10.1.0.0/16 10.91.1.2 Vlan2
10.1.2.71/32 10.91.1.2 Vlan2
10.1.2.72/32 10.91.1.2 Vlan2
10.1.13.128/25 10.91.1.2 Vlan2
10.1.16.0/24 10.91.1.2 Vlan2
10.1.17.0/24 10.91.1.2 Vlan2
10.1.19.0/24 10.91.1.2 Vlan]
I had thought that if this switch is CEF enabled by default why would MLS RP still be utilized?[/quote]
